Whenever my kids felt sad or angry about something/someone, I had taught them to resort to writing or drawing to express themselves and take that time to cool down as well instead of throwing their fits around or being violent.
Well, here's one of the cartoons from one of them, expressing dislike of Chinese Spelling:
